We post warnings to other members when we have a bad experience with some vendor, but I would like to post a GREAT experience we just had with a couple of companies in this industry.

My Son wants to build another set of headers for the 468 Olds in his rpu, and while at Turkey Run we stopped by Saltflatmatt's booth. Matt went way out of his way to help us and give Dan some tips on the best way to do them. We ended up buying the cones, baffles, and u bends we needed, but Matt was out of the flanges we needed. No problem, we called Hell's Gate Hot Rods and Andy had them on the shelf.

I can't say enough good things about both of these guys. Matt is super friendly and knowledgeable, willing to share his experience too. Andy from Hell's Gate was exactly the same way and busted his tail to make sure Dan got them in time for Christmas. We hear so many horror stories about people being dissatisfied with one company or another, I thought I would p*** along our experience with these two guys. The prices from both companies was very reasonable, considering the nice quality of all the parts.

Oh, the flanges showed up and are perfect........nice and thick and cut to the same shape as the gasket, which will make a cleaner engine. Here is a picture of the ones we got.

I think we need more stories like your Don. While some people have legitimate issues with some firms, too often people just don't take the time to thank those who understand the customers needs . Good story.

I'm glad to hear some of you have also had great service from Matt and Andy............they are genuinely nice guys. Some people have to act friendly, but you can tell neither of them is faking it. Will definitely buy from both of them again.

Just the opposite is a speed shop here in our town that will remain nameless. Over the past 15 years, maybe more, I have tried to give him some business to support a local guy. But the man is such an *** that every time I call or stop in I leave pissed at his at***ude. It is like he is really putting himself out to help you and it bugs him. I understand the only way he survives is by mail order because the customers never have to deal with him directly. Some people should not be left near the public.

I didn't want to turn this into a ***** thread, just trying to show the contrast between business owners like Matt and Andy and others who just don't give a damn.

I'm just chiming in to say the same, Andy will hook you up with whatever flanges you need. If he doesn't have it, he'll figure out how to make it and your going to get it quick.
This boy is in it for the long run and understands how to keep his customers happy.
    I like the name too!
Hells Gate Hot Rods gets 2 thumbs up!

Matt built a sweet set of torque tube driveshaft headers for me...fast, friendly, and a terrific product.

Matt is for sure a nice guy and willing to help with all the tech questions. Dealing with him is a pleasure, and easy even if you are across the country. I just told him what I needed, the measurements....and presto! On my door step in no time. He's awesome with the oddball custom stuff.
