Another vote for bed floors. Short unibody. And a nice 61 grille would be cool.

And a nice 61 dash would be cool too. Seems like a lot got cut up to install aftermarket radios and speakers.

Along with previous suggestions.the following might be usefull:

A replacement dash piece from ashtray, to instrument panel opening, for those with butchered dashes

rear Unibody corners, left and right,(I have an original passenger side replacement If you need a pic, or a temporary borrow)

Four inch tall roof section above the drip rails/doors,

six to eight inch tall section front of hood for both sides of center

replacement torque boxes for both short and long unibodies.

Patch body panel of bed for typical rot areas along torque box /bed floor areas, both unibody and later model/fridge model

    Gas filler delete patch

Roll panel front and rear for both style side and unibody or smooth trucks

I can send pictures of that which you do not understand on these suggestions.

A visit to project section at 'slick60s' will show a lot of typical damage repair

Being a Uni owner in the rust belt I can't beleive you guys have not mentioned the lower door post or the lower cowl. These seem to always have alot of rust. And I am shocked that these pieces are not reproduced. Also full length rockers and a repro torque box.As far as roof skins 61-64 are different than 65-66.If you want pics I can e-mail you all the problem areas on my Uni.

I just picked up a 61 UNI. Is the torque box you are talking about the area that's rusted out on the side of this box? This rusted area seems to be a box tube that runs across the back of the cab under the bed. This one is in bad shape, but workable.

On the radiator core support, most of the damage I see is always rust right below the headlight. When I'm looking at a truck, I always look behind the grill and look down to see if its rusted out there.

Here's a pic from my truck, I was lucky and it had no rust.

Right along that lower lip area is where it rusts. You might offer the whole corner area from top to bottom for trucks that have been wrecked in the front end.

I haven't seen the lower cowl piece, but the lower door posts are already reproduced by Carolina Classics.

That would indeed appear to be the torque box. A very common failure point, unfortunately!

Big M, You are probably thinking of the hinge post.I have a set of them.I am refering to the door post where the door latch is.The lower portion where it curves to meet with the step area.Almost all of the trucks I have seen here in the midwest have rust in that area.

Not sheet metal but how bout a front bumper that fits and a new replacement steering box or kit.

Patch panel to eliminate the in bed side tool box.

Sorry, yes, I was thinking of the side with the hinge. Good point though on the side with the door latch, since mine had some rust in that area as well. Didn't realize it was that common:

The guy who redid my floor had to fabricate a patch panel (as well as new kick panels, a portion of the toeboard beyond the repro floor pans, and there is still some rust in the lower cowl that has yet to be repaired).

I really think the best way to get your foot in the door would be to make something that is not available now. There are already quailty repair panels available, just not that many of them.I have no doubt in EMS as far as quaility.I think that is there strongest selling point.Just a thought.

    To look like this....

    [IMG][/IMG]

I had to rebuild the inner door post, the lower cowl, inner kick panel, etc. Only thing I could find to buy was the rockers, rockers, step plate, riser and floor pans....then I had to extend the rockers to under the gas tank hole because the gaskets typically leak.

Wish I had a picture of this installed, but its all covered up now. But the rocker now goes back into a boxed structure under the gas tank hole. This is on a 61 Uni. Shortbox.

    1) 1966 Core support 4x2 as already requested. They are 3 layers of metal so patch panels would be difficult at best. The 65 core support is different.

    2) Box floor panels and also panel at front of box

    3) Tailgate (carpenters gates are 67-72)

    4) Nice hoods are near impossible to find

I'd like to see a complete bed assembly, with changes.
Make the side panels one piece rather than three, and in both regular styleside and South American uni style.
Make them a bolt on/together deal like the chevy guys enjoy, along with a one piece floor pan and a one piece headboard.
Makes for easier shipping, and paint prep and anyone can assemble them.
Given that only about one in ten people actually care if thier truck is "ORIGINAL" and actually go out of thier way to personalize them, this would be a wonderful addition to parts availablitlty.
Make several style of tailgates - dented and smooth. Make an insertable panel for the Mercury boys, that says Mercury. Offer a handleless version with the handle on the inside.

    Full doors would be nice.

A hood in any configuratin would be nice. whether stock indent, smoothed or with some form of scoop, although I think the cowl hood idea is way old and ugly, something like the challenger style would look wicked

    just some thoughts

on the radiator support yoke can we make a patch panel or do we need to do the whole support
