With all the suspension work done, I finally put the car on the ground. Holy smokes is the rear low. In the rear, its 17 1/2 inches from the ground to the top of the wheel lip. My wheels off my crown vic fit over the disc brakes nicely. Now I need to decide if I want some spider caps or not. One of the pic's show a skirt on. Makes it look even lower. Next on the list is both floor boards and a steering gear box swap. Enjoy
Looks like a good height in the rear, when you put the engine, trans & front sheet metal on it will bring the back up a little.
The tires are only rollers. It will have some wide whites when it hits the road. That black on black doesn't look so awesome.
Looks good. If you keepin it a 4 door i'd vote for a bomb treatment. Not many Fords done that way, and it already has a visor too. sweet car.
The car looks sweet, No apology for some extra doors for the gang to pile in, the car looks awesome bro. Keep up the good work. ~sololobo~
It won't be too low. Mine is 15 and 1/2 inchs with the engine in it. it don't drag [much] I did mine with 4 inch blocks.
https://picasaweb.google.com/ottous...authkey=Gv1sRgCIG31N6ZiNHOnAE&feat=directlink The above link should take you to my picasa page. I have pictures on there from the day I brought it home to the present. Things I've done: Rear: 8" out of a Fairlane, new and relocated spring perches, Explorer disc brakes and hoses, the "T" block is from a Jeep (same size as the Ford, but allot cheaper), new hard lines, 3.08 gears, one tire fire, factory 50 Ford springs with new bushings, 51 Ford shackles (shorter than the stock 50 shackles), 3" cast iron lowering blocks, new shocks. Front: Aerostar coils, Jamco upper A-arm relocating bracket, Fatman steering links (not whole kit), ECI caliper brackets (only the brackets), Ranger rotors, Chevy calipers, Tahoe brake hoses, Napa shocks. Have but need to install: Hydro-boost and portioning valve from a 78 Lincoln Mark V, steering gearbox (not willing to say what as of yet. If it works out I will share), automatic column, fuel injected 302/AOD from a 91 Crown Vic. Not HAMB friendly, but as this is going to be a daily driven car and I have three sons creeping up on driving age. I wanted cheap reliability with easy to get parts. Need: floor boards (hope to order soon) The wheels are also off the 91 Crown Vic. I have a few other misc parts laying around as well. I orginally was going to keep the flathead overdrive combo, but as you can see from the pictures, it was full of water and rusted up tight. Then I ran across the Crown Vic, and reality set in. I know my sons will ride her hard. So I'm trying to plan ahead the best I can. Thank you for the comments and idea's. Enjoy the pictures
