best to do a search with your key words, Mine might but this does http://www.reocities.com/chevadoracing/index.html
This is the first one the comes to mind for me. Theres a cool video of the actual little red wagon racing a Sox and Martin 69 roadrunner on youtube.
im building a 61 econoline five window and want to see how the swing arm style rear axles were made and go from there.mine has a 402 big block chevy a dragster shorty glide and 9 inch with slip couplings and 537 gears.just about to start making the rear assembly.
Hello RF, there is a guy in Hobbs N.M. that campains a cab over truck wheelstander. Cant remember if it is a GM. or Ford, but you might be able to find him on the net. His name is Donny Huerta and the truck is "The Mexican Jumping Bean". If you can't contact him let me know, I may have his phone # somewhere out in the race trailer. Good luck, you project sounds fun. Paul
If you want to make a true wheelstander, they had solid mounted susp with truck rearend turned around backwards with a transfer case hooking the trans to rearend.
Here's my friend Art's HOTWHEELS Dodge A100 wheelstander. Built much like the Little Red Wagon, the photos show it running a injected 440 Chrysler. He installed a 8-71 blower after these pictures were taken. The photo doing the wheelstand is at Milan Dragway during the taping of PINKS for the speed channel. He didn't race just made a run. Way Cool truck!! Mel
can you get some pictures of the frame and motor mounts? i saw it on pinks very cleah a100.thanks wes
Im building something similiar out of a 65 Econoline Van. This is a pic of the Little Red Wagons removable subrame, but is not suspended. I plan on building a similiar subframe but it will be suspended with heim joints in the front making a big swing arm. Have you started on yours yet? This a pic I found on here somewhere
nice the lrw had suspended in the later years i guess this system didnt wor and was crashed.im going to mount the swing arm were the motor mounts were at on the frame 24"wide sub frame with axle floaters turned upside down from the stock rear leaf spings and solid mounted on the subframe along with the motor and trans.
Found this website lookin for more wheelstanders for some motivation heres a few pics of mine it takes advantage of the super stock springs and uses a pillow block at the front axis of the spring front mount axis for suspension freedom, the car launches nice and straight, it's all apart for finishing and paint work now it's a 65 barracuda formulas s that was too rusty for restoration but I didn't have the heart to send her to the scrapyard, it's now powered by a W-2 headed 340 with tunnel ram and dual 660 center squirters, msd ignition, W-2 a body headers hooked to a shorty 727 with 4500 stall, deep pan and reverse manual valve body, the rear end is an 8 3/4 with 3:23 gears and a power lok (clutch type) carrier sure grip is the cone type. the trans carries the power straight to a 205 divorced transfer case from a dodge truck then to the rear, brakes are handled by speedway motors rotors and hats then weld on caliper mounts using gm calipers two per wheel one set being used for foot brake and the others for the left and right steering brake thru wilwood master cylinders
heres a couple of videos with an old truck 360 with a 538 cam and two edelbrock 750's was a great oval track engine but just not for this application with the low compression ratio and too much cam and carb's I was warned heavily against mounting everything solid to the car and now that I have actually tried it out the ride is not harsh and will know more when I get it all back together , enjoy the video's Ya'llhttps://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151064262662021 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151064276822021
