  2. Nope, that would be Stanley Chevrolet at 11980 E Firestone sung by Molly Bee. And the other one was Pete Ellis Ford.

  4. Shit, who'd have thought that would have worked. I think it'd be even cooler w/ out the flames and just the darker color on the roof...but that's just me. Neat car.

  5. I took that photo at Back to the Beach in 2000. I agree, it's a car that is 'traditionally' a muscle car, yet it really worked for me.

I wish I had've taken more pics that day, but it was the beginning of a three month honeymoon and I didn't want to blow all my film. Also my first US car show and I saw more custom paint, metalflake and Astro Supremes in one day than I had in my previous 33 years on this fine planet.

There's a whole heap more HERE!

It seems like the belflower style is the only cool way to build a big early sixties car, this one is one of my favorites.

We used to cruise Harvey's when I was a teen in my friends Riviera that was lowered to the "Chesterfield" ride height, purple metalflake with a pearl white cobwebbed roof. Door handles off and Chrysler wires because we called Astro wheels "studbusters". Firestone Blvd (West of Lakewood) and Whittier Blvd (West of Atlantic) was like a car show on the weekends. In Downey, you were guaranteed a traffic stop, East L.A. maybe.
