All we need is a few early custom rods that drag raced and everyone would be happy (not)... I like the variety in RJ and like most folks - it isn't the only one I subscribe too...
A big vote from me as well for farmer12's Plymouth coupe. Great to see so many people here appreciate the work involved building a killer car across the other side of the world.
Um . . . wow . . . thank you. The car turned out beyond anything I could have hoped for. It's actually going in for a bit more work by ***us tonight. Then its over to his wife, stich***** for some tuck & roll. Eventually the car will come apart again for shiny baby blue paint, but for now I'm enjoying the car. Still can't believe it's mine!
Everyone's got an opinion --- some should shut the hell up basically and maybe take a look at the era and/or history with cars built. Hot Rods vs Customs debate has been around since the car culture & customizing began. It's our jobs today to keep it alive....whatever your personal taste may be. Seems like everytime I take a peek on here it's about grown *** men having ******* contests and talking lots of ****.
I finally got my new issue last night, and indeed, it has something for everyone. Nice coverage on the customs, and great article about the Eddie Miller Jr. car, and especially the feature on Floyd William's bad-*** black roadster that Dave Lane built. To me, that was the highlight of the issue. It's purrrfect!
Yes! I concur. That picture is from R&C, right? Nevertheless, I would like to see an article covering each of the four as opposed to just the single article with the others acting as a background. iPhone - TJJ app
It seems that you like the DeRosa Shark, or have some personal attachment to it. I'm truly glad that someone does. In order to bash me for participating in a "******* contest", you've gloosed over the main point of my post and focused on my little personal editorial on the DeRosa Shark. My main point was that all the cars and styles that I mentioned (including the DeRosa Shark) are legit customs. I do understand that during the time that the Shark was built, customs were judged mostly on the number of modifications done to the car. The greater the number of mods and the more radical/obvious they were, the better the chance to win an award. Basically modification for modification's sake. This lead to a lot of cars being built that were/are widely considered less than beautiful. I recognize that the Shark has historical value as one of the few remaining examples from this school of thought, and it should be preseved. However, knowing all this does not make the car look any better.
