I am always amazed at the dedication and skill some of the HAMB members have saving cars that " others " have passed over as too rough.

Like these cars ... Rough but ... some HAMB guys could give them a new life.

    :D

Both of those look like they are in better shape than one that is being redone on the Hamb now. The chop on the gold one looks pretty nice too.

    those look good to me...

  4. I helped a friend in the '90s save a '56 2 door hard top. He bought it and it looked pretty solid, had it media blasted and it was pretty much a roof.

I would be pretty proud to own either of th coupes. It would be work but if I was in cheap either one could be a class act.

My now deceased business partner and I used to save totals that we either bought from the insurance company or the salvage yard. That pretty much kept our doors open. He had a hard fast rule never take a before picture. A lot of people were afraid to buy a wreck. :D

I ment to say that if those are yours the roof on the gold one is perfect.

It's no deuce but i'm hoping to do this one proud!

Progress is slow. I keep finding other projects that seem to butt in line. One of these days.

I am building a 33 that started as nothing but a cowl, I then bought a hood, then a pair of doors, its a Johnny Cash car, one piece at a time, I have the floor section and lower 1/4's from a coupe that sat burried in a creek and the top of it rusted completly away, so now I just need the scraps of the top of a 33 or 34 coupe and I will have enough to start my jigsaw puzzle! Hell, most of my stuff starts out as scraps every sane person throws away...

  9. Nice thread Randy, who's projects are these? Maybe they wouldn't mind bringing us up to speed as far as progression from " the rough "

Those don't look that bad to me!!! Since most of the old good tin has already been rebuilt we are having to get worse starting points. It's not a bad thing because the days of just hanging aftermarket parts on good tin is gone and real talent is starting to show on these builds.

  15. It doesn't need to be a deuce to be be worth saving, I was told I was crazy for buying these and attempting to build a car. Chevy roadsters are rarer after all :D ;)

Jimmy B, I love your roadster. I am trying to round up some parts to build something along the same lines as yours.

The talent on the HAMB is unbelievable, Randy. What's more impressive is that most of them are willing to share the "how to" part so that the rest do us can learn to do it , too.

Happy New Year to you, Buster and Steve!

Both the coupes are better than what I started with. I've got about 40lbs of sanded off plastic filler if you need some, its still in all my tool box drawers and the perimeter of the shop!

Like Tony said, if it weren't for rough bodies I would have never been able to afford the one I have.
