...here that is. Been meaning yo join up for quite some time. Too many projects and life to get in the way. Anyhoo... my name is Gary. I live on Whidbey Island, WA and have been hot rodding trucks for eons. Namely the 67-72 series of Chevy/GMC trucks. But I've had others. I currently have a 1972 GMC C1500 Super Custom that I yarded out of a field 6 years ago. Then rebuilt the engine and ******. Did a little work here and there... it's a continuous work in progress. I have the *** end out of it now... installing a new Eaton posi, and 3.73 gears. The exterior and interior of the truck are stock. Except the PO had painted the top black instead of the original white. It has the original baby poop pea green paint. All the rust and dents are still there. Everytime I start this thing... I leave a pile of rust from the floorboards on the garage floor. Someday I'll cut it all out... someday. I'm having too much fun as it is with this thing. The 425 hp smallblock has suprised a few new mustang and camaro owners. When I open the hood of this old rig... nobody is expecting to see a very clean engine between the frame rails of the old farm truck. It has old ET slots on it (7" wide in front and 10" wide out back) that originally came off of my dad's 1970 Chevy C10. But what's cool is that they were originally on an old Willy's G***er from the late 60's. I'm glad to have themn on my truck. Truck is lowered a tad too. One thing I put in the interior... is a shift knob on the auto column shifter. My Dad made it when he was a senior in high school back in '61. He had it in a '50 Plymouth Business Coupe. So I thought it was pretty bad *** that he gave it to me. Well... here are a few pics of the old rod... glad to be here, and look forward to participating. Later, Gary
My wife and I spent a day on Whidbey Island years back a nice break from Seattle. Welcome from the Colorado Rocky Mountains Dale
