Isn't it too high then? Sectioning the grille sounded quite resonable. Anyway - great truck and great work!
The reason for the rust where it is----there is a drain at each corner of the windshield under the dash that is supposed to have a rubber hose attached to drain the frame to the outside. Feel up under the dash and you will feel two tits sticking out about 1/2" that the hose goes over, then the hose goes through the dash and drains out past the firewall. If this isn't hooked back up you will rust out in the same places in a short time. Don't ask how I know this----I've owned one for 30 years and have fixed that area twice.
So,,do you have to section your grill and what not,,or just hack a inch or so off the bottom of fenders..Looks great and you could drive just the way it is long as you stay off the speed bumps... Just shot my 41 with flat clear,,first time I laid it on too heavy and it came out glossy so knocked 'er down and laid 2 light coats,,,
Hi I cut my front end off flush to the bottom of cab. The grill I cut the bottom off and then cut about 2 1/2 inched, then welded bottom back on. Take a look at these pictures. James
I dont need to now i ordered some 3" 2wd front lift spindles for the frame, solved my problem's now i can keep my fenders long and put on the factory full length runing boards, by the way nice truck man!
