I never introduced myself so here goes before I get busted.
Hello from Palmdale CA. I’m an aerospace worker that’s always loved racing, Indy cars and stock cars.
I grew up in Inglewood CA. Went to Inglewood High, Class of ’74. I don’t miss Inglewood but I sure miss Ascot Park and the sprint cars.
I have lots of tools and lots of respect for the work I’ve seen others on this board do. Some real talent here. Don’t look for me to post any pictures of my welds made with my $100 Lowe’s welder. I blame the welder.
I’m lucky enough to have a good wife that lets me indulge in tools, cars and Saturday night racing.
Can’t wait to retire in no more than 7 years. Man that sounds like a long time.

Welcome Augie from the West Coast of Florida.

I always thought that when I retired I would have more time for different projects but what I have found is I am so busy now running the business that I still don't have enough time for my projects.

I am very grateful because how many people can say they get paid for doing something they really love to do?

Best of luck with your projects.

    Jimbo

Augie,I am quite a bit older at 79, born in Inglewood in 1932 (the good year!),went to Inglewood hi from 1946-1950, this was the period and birth of hot rodding especially in Inglewood & the So.Bay area.
There were quite a few "notables" that cruised the old school on Grevilla back then, & they also ran the lakes around Palmdale on weekends, then came to school on Monday to brag about their adventures!----Don

Man small world. Jimbo, thanks, Florida is on my lists of places to spend some time in. Work sent me to the cape in the 80s and I want to go back, but not for work. Sinastir, I have lots of family in the SCV. My brother and I used to race at Saugus Speedway too. Don, I had no idea how close Inglewood was to the center of west coast racing or racing period for the first 60 years of the last century. Lots of racing history very close to the Inglewood area.
    Thanks guys

I was much older and started reading about early racers and lots of times the path to Indianapolis passed though Inglewood, Culver City, Hawthorne or somewhere near by.
The wife put something in the eggnog, that's the reason for all the edits.
    Happy New Year
