if you dont mind me asking how much did those tires run you for the dirt track in the back and the front runners????
5w, the 6-71 blower is underdriven, boost is only about 4 psi. I wanted the motor to be more towards the reliable end of the continuum than the insanely powerful end. But it should still be plenty quick, and I hope to have some video of it running soon. Candelaria, the tires were about a grand, 450 for the fronts and 550 for the rears, including the grooving.
Glen, the rad is for a 65 mustang, its a 3 core aluminum. Here's a few pics of the interior being buttoned up, the trunk lid mounted, steering linkage, valve cover breather(s), and the ds mirror. Still waiting on some window felt for DS and PS windows as well as the thermostat from PAW, hence no rad hose and the nice orange rag stuffed under the blower. The wheel looks awesome, looks nice with the seats. JB Donaldson shrunk the Willy's wheel down from 19" to 14.5", but failed to put the gm spline adapter in when they did so. Not to worry, Stony managed to attach the adapter without fucking up the original bung, or the plastic around it. Stony, once again you come through. You're the man!
Makes me sick with jealousy to see how far you've come with that BAD ASS coupe!!! Nice job!! And screw pics and story of how it runs....show us the video!! That is such a cool lookin ride!
Thanks y'all. Sorry for the sideways video, but..... It's Alive! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QHwNyHtj9XI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QHwNyHtj9XI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
It's a beast for sure, but its going to be fun as hell. Stony, you did an amazing job! Here's a better video, of the car's first (short) run. Watch how easily it breaks loose. I nearly pissed my pants from excitement when I watched this. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jnFrYQCDjn4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jnFrYQCDjn4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Should be going on the truck next week. I can't wait!
Thanks y'all. Glen, those baffles are pretty much just cherry bomb glass packs with the casings cut off, shoved into the pipes. Stony took a bunch of pictures and is intending on making a thread on how he put em together. As soon as he does, I'll post a link to it here.
Well, its finished. That is assuming the road test goes according to plan. Here are some final pictures, next to the Oddball show car which was built this summer and featured weekly on Dream Car Garage.
Stony and Chris arrived on Friday afternoon, after a long drive from Toronto. The car is AMAZING, scary fast. I ended up having to change out the steering wheel to a 12" from the 14.5", for leg clearance to work the brake pedal. I still have only had the gas pedal about half way down and it will go sideways easily. Here's two videos from right after it rolled off the truck. The first is Stony showing me the car. The second is the first ride. Stony insisted on driving, to show me the ropes. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_ytZLdxkJuI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_ytZLdxkJuI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/B62l9_yT5Rk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/B62l9_yT5Rk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Comming along, keep posting your updates. As a Model A guy I'm really interested in what you're doing, especially the detail shots. Thanks
I'm not a fan of the grill, visor or decklid graphics, but I'd drive the hell out of it. Looks like a blast!
here is the model A in a little video we put together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uxpy5wDdtb4&feature=g-all-c&context=G25f1936FAAAAAAAAAAA
Changed the front grill, got rid of the graphics on the trunk lid, rims and tire change out ,new visor, new paint
