I am building a 55 chevy gasser. I am planning on building long 1" tubing ladder bars as they would in the 60's. The customer told me that some of the gassers would run 1/4 eliptical rear springs in the day. Basicaly a half spring. Has any of the members done this? Does anyone have pics? Thanks Dan

A friend in Houston Texas, Bobby Knighton raced a 32 altered from the late 50's to 1967 or so. National champ for many years. Used and automatic and 1/4 eliptic rears.
I have a streetrod with 1/4 springs in the rear too. You can sort through my profile and see the set up my students built from scratch

August, 1963 Hot Rod Magazine. Hugh Tucker's world-beating AA/SR had quarter-eliptics on the rear with long ladder bars.
