Hey everyone. My name is Matt. Ive been reading through the forums and just joined. A little back story, I've always been into cars but not so much trucks except for the AD years. So I did little looking for an AD truck because I always thought I wouldn't be able buy one given my always small budget lol. I'm sure many can relate. So I am on CL all the time looking for deals on just about anything I might need or realistically never "need" and stumbled on a 1949 AD about a year ago for pretty cheap money. I went and took a look at it with my father who is my best friend and who would be the other pair of hands on the project so he gets a say. We agreed that it was a little too much with all my house renovations going on and what not so i told the guy i just couldn't do it. So I get a call next morning from the gentleman and he offers me a price i couldnt walk away from. I bring it up to my fathers garage that night without telling him or the misses. Got in a bit of any argument with both of them but less with her surprisingly. He got on board after i did some research and found out that the truck rolled off the ***embly line only a couple weeks after he was born so I got a told you so moment on him. Sorry for the winded introduction but i like the story. So in the end I get the truck for $600 and a lot of future fond memories working with my father. Here is a picture of the truck when i first pulled it into my fathers garage.
