Hey everyone. Just saying hello. IM 25 just got out of the Army and got a lot of questions about my 54 ford custom line. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome from another JAX resident.
I concur, I have found anything and everything I ever wanted to know (or how bad I screwed something up) by searching through post. Probably about 10,000 years of knowledge on here!

First - thank you for serving your country and a big welcome. You might want to go online and order catalogs from some of the parts suppliers. They show lots of diagrams for how parts fit together. Just a good source of information as well as a parts source. Some suggestions are Mac's Auto Parts, Obsolete Auto Parts, Concours, Dennis Carpenter, and of course there are many others. And they are free. Your car looks to be in great overall shape and should be a fun project.

I'm not a big local car show guy and most of it won't start again until it warms up a bit. Fifties music blaring and people sitting in lawn chairs in front of their cars really doesn't do it for me. The street race scene is mostly import and immaturity. I miss cruising!!

Next big one I know is Moultrie Swap Meet in Georgia. Its the first week in February. Decent parts and cars. Turkey Rod Run at Daytona coming up at the end of March. First time for a Spring show. This one I go to for parts and to look at cars for ideas.

Yeah El Paso had a much cooler scene where it comes to older cars. Almost every week there was a cruise, swap, or show somewhere, and it was always entertaining. As long as I can find a few good parts, Ill put up with the lawn chairs, and flip flops.

  12. Howdy and thanks for your service. Used to live in Jax, fun place.
If I were you I'd look into joining the 52 - 56 Ford group on here. Groups of like minded car owners know their way around their rides. Not as entertaining but may save you some of the grief I've seen on the general post area.
