Hey ya'll, I go by the name of Mugs (its my trail name from backpacking but has carried over into forums) I am an automotive technician by trade but have recently made a career change to teacher, (high school shop/Industrial arts.) I have been into rods and muscle cars my whole life but have never had the opportunity to really start making it a reality until now. I have built a number of one off Subaru stuff (I'm a/was Subaru tech.) but nothing like a rod or muscle car...so I have a lot to learn. Of course I have a grocery list of what I want. But for my first "build" I would like to find a pre 35 2 door sedan Chev or Dodge product. I'll except a Ford but only as a last resort. Not because of my distaste for Ford, just that they have been so over done, and I want something not so usual. I already have the engine, trans, and rear-end for it, so I figure that's a good start. Just gonna be a DD, nothing fancy. Next would be a 41 or 46 Chev Truck...man I love those things...that grill is to die for. OK I guess that's enough from me for now. Thanks in advance for all the information I'm about to learn. Look forward to becoming a part of the H.A.M.B.
Welcome from over here in Issaquah. Since you love the 41-46 Chevy Trucks, here's a few pictures of the ones I have built. This first truck, I bought as an original 1 1/2 ton truck right up the road from you in Chattaroy. Now sporting tandems in the back. Enjoy.
Hey Mugs, recognize these seats? Being a Subaru tech, you should. Would you believe, these seat fit nicely in my 46 and are the most comfortable seats out of the three trucks I have.
welcome Mugs. im rebuilding a 34 dodge 4 door sedan. if you need any spare parts for the engine and ****** let me know. im not going to use them in the rebuild. i also have a spare artillery wheel if you plan to go original. i only ask that if you see an extra grill shell you let me know, thanks.
