Greetings all- I was actualy looking up info on how to fit up a 48 ford front end under a model a, and the best answers I found were on this site- thanks! I have been wrenching on cars since I was very young- my father owned a repair shop, and my life has revolved around cars in one form or another all my life. My first car was a 54 ford customline - and this was in 1985.I have built quite a few cars- a 1946 plymouth with a camero clip and chev driveline, a 46 ford , also with a camero clip, a stock 1930 model a , a 32 plymouth coupe with a straight axle, 318 and all mopar driveline, and several others- however, they have all been for other people. Now, I am finally going to build myself one. I am looking for a model a five window or tudor to build.I have a 48 ford front end, a ton of driveline parts, model a fenders, hoods, doors, spare dashes, headlights, etct. All I don't have is the body. New Hampshire winters make it hard to find a body that there is anything left of, but the hunt goes on. Thanks in advance for the advice!
I see you have a buick biggeorge- I actualy just saw a 35 buick on craigslist that someone blew apart and now wants to sell- i am actualy thinking about it-----

Putting 39 Ford taillights in my 29 model A and have found the gl*** lenses are too thick and dark to be seen very well. Love this old school look and am definitely gonna try to keep it. Is there an 1157 dual filament bulb in a LED that is brighter than the standard incadescent 1157 bulb? Where will I find it and has anybody else installed these in 39 lights with success?
there are led 1157 bulbs out there- I have one in my ironhead sportster that is running a 37 ford taillight ***embly. However, I have never had a problem with a bulb not shining brightly enough to show through a lens, unless I had a bad ground or or a similar problem. As to where to find them, I know they can be found on line. I go to a local swap meet and buy them through a local vendor.
welcome to the HAMB from the lakes region! Do you have a universal Cr***slist search program on your computer? Interesting what you find when you put in a search radius of about four hours. Just got a nice 4" Merc crank for my flathead rebuild from a guy in "you can't get there" Maine. PM me if you want the info.
I just looked at that ad. The body looks good. The wood will be the problem. Buick's are a great car and you wont have much compe***ion when you go to a show
Check out the m*** site on here. Some one local just might have what you need http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=140
