I'm sure this has been asked before,BUT, i cant locate it. I'm going to put a Volare in a 50 F-1 pickup. Ok, Question is, do you move the axle centerline 1" forward like you would do to an F-100? I have done several F-100's but never an F-1.

Any other pointers would be welcome for the F-1 install. And NO i am not going to use a mustang II!

    Thanks for looking!

Pick up a copy of Jim Clarke's "How to Build Hot Rod Pickups". Online for around $20. Article how to on a Dodge, but same basic concept. Also great step by step thread, with pictures on P15-D24 website, also on a Dodge, but has much specific info. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14259
Incidently, I had planned to do this swap to my PU, but after MUCH research and thought, have decided to go another direction.

  4. 1.5" is what I have done on these trucks. Looks way better. The frame is a little narrower then the 53 - 56 so I cut the "ears" off of the clip and trim the bottom of the frame rather then notch the frame and leave the ears on, makes for a tidier job...

Take a look at www.ford-trucks.com, in the 48-60 forum. Lots of good info available there.
