totaly rewired my tail lights last night. I had brake lights but no tail lights and I wanna drive at night this weekend. I think I got it all fixed, and of course one of my bulbs has a burnt element, so I couldn't test it. Keep your fingers crossed!

Tail lights worked great...Part of the problem was that I didn't have a good ground...Due to the m***ive quan***y of bondo in the rear end! I put some pretty good miles on the car last night. Drove great I put it on the highway for the first time and was shocked at how well it did. The biggest problem was that I was running a little over 3000 RPM at highway speeds, and I'm gonna have to do something about the alignment of my head lights! It was still pretty awesome to put that kind of mileage on it with little or no hiccups! Probably 60-70 miles by the end of the trip.

Working in the garage on December 30th in jeans and a long sleeve T...With the garage door wide open, this is good for motivation! The engine should be out tonight...if the kids cooperate!

HA HA...I'm in Ohio, it should be about 10 degrees outside, it was about 60 all day! I'm sure it will be in the 20's next week and I'll be eating my words!

Way behind schedule on the Plymouth this winter, been busy with work in and out of town, hunting, the holidays and my wife just got out of the hospital from surgery and will be down for a couple weeks, so that will keep me around the house!

Got a good start on pulling the engine tonight!

Good help is getting harder and harder to find, so I got to start him young!

After I snapped all 6 studs off the exhaust manifold collectors I decided to call it a night! Tomorrow I will decide if I'm gonna pull the engine and trans together or seperate...

I would like to get the HEI coil off the p***enger side of the fire wall, does anybody know of a reason I wouldn't want to mount it inside the fire wall under the dash? I will try to mount it where it will get good air flow!

Damn man your killin it! Did you weld all the holes smooth, or just use an epoxy? That silver looks killer! I'm thinking about filling all the unnecessary holes and smoothing the top half out for semi-gloss black, then spraying everything from the seam down with a spatter paint that I'll clear coat. I'll probably give the fender wells the same spatter paint treatment after I make some removeable panels to replace the rusty spots.

Everything is welded up. I ran everything out the drivers side where the fender hides it. I really like the silver but not sure if im going to stay with it. The way it looked in my head and on the car are two different things. Your coupe is looking great!

Well got the engine out today...Got tired of waiting for some help so I just took my time and pulled it my self! It all went supprisingly smooth, with the exception of forgetting to put the plug in the trans till after it had puked 2 or 3 quarts of ATF all over the floor!

As I said it went pretty good other than that! Now the real fun begins!

Got the mess all cleaned up, and took the engine/trans to the car wash for a good pressure washing. The motor us on the stand and the trans is sitting in the truck bed waiting for the new seals and gaskets. I'm thinking about a shift kit while its out, to go with the street-fighter torque converter (a hold over from a previous project).

Ok so I picked up a B&M shift improver kit...It comes with 2 kits, 1 for "towing and RV", and 1 for "street and strip". How do I know what one to use, I do plan on the occasional trip to the drag strip, but alot more street use. I also never had a kick down cable on this transmission, so do I need one? I understand they are for a p***ing gear, I guess I'm a little confused as to where the thing even hooks up, since I don't see a place to hook it up on the trans...Yes I do plan on using the search function here on the HAMB to find my answers!

The plymouth coupe I have has a camero clip- parts to do a simple disc brake conversion were not available twenty years ago. I am quite happy with it.

Any ideas on the shift kit from the night crowd? Also any tips on the install, I have it out of the car so that should make it easier?

started a little more tear down today...

I pulled the carpet so I could patch up some floor pans, and get ready for the Gennie shifter I just purchased from a fellow HAMBer...What I found wasn't much of a supprise, while the carpet and seat is out I'll be re-wiring the whole car so I wanted a picture of the current situation!

Man thats some scary wiring! Those wire nuts really made me cringe, thats a fire hazard waiting to happen.
As for new wiring, you might check out Rebel Wire, they make real good and very affordable kits. Tugmaster on here is a dealer. I installed one in a '51 F1 a few months back and it worked very well.

Yeah if I buy a kit I'll be in touch with Tugmaster, but at this point I may just wire it my self. I've done a couple and there's so little to the car it shouldn't be too big of a deal! Famous last words!

I borrowed a flux core welder from a buddy today, did just a little practicing, and I think it will get the job done for the floor pans, and maybe filling the holes in the firewall, but I'll have to bring my brother in with the tig to fix the engine mounts, and the final clean up work.

If anybody has any advice on using flux core I'm all ears!

My Gennie shifter should be here by the time I get off work Thursday...Thanks to HAMBers BAD PENNY, AND 327-365hp! I'll be itching till then!
