It was a hot and humid morning this sunday in Asbury Park, NJ as local hotrodders set out for a cruise. Assembling at the coolest place in NJ, The Asbury Lanes. They set off for a drive. In attendance were Mel, Slim, Petey, John, Shane, Ray, Jody? (man im bad with names, sorry) and Myself and my girlfriend.... A few miles in..............uh oh..."trouble" well..........Rumblers cars don't break down.......................... ....they just run out of gas.............. .....about 3 miles from the start................DOH1 A few gallons in the passenger seat "mounted" gastank and we're off!...............to invade Kinko's to make some flyers up...... ..there was a real nice "golf" store next door...but I think the store owners hid in the back when they heard the racket. a throttle linkage fix and a slow copy machine later....and were off!
Picture a town. A small town. An old small town that is based on antiques, jazz, ritzy rich people, 1000000 expensive coffee houses.......and a car show at the local fire department. with lots of corvettes. about 200 cars at the show total.... now picture the above cars pulling in.... as crowds stopped looking at the shiney chrome.....they cheered and the local car club that was hosting the show wet thier pants in excitement as they guided us to a nice spot for us. To be honest....ive never felt so welcome at a car show!! The guys putting on the show were real happy to have us. I have to say those guys treated everyone like they were kings!!!!!!! here comes "trophy" time.................everyone else left and it was myself and my father to await the excitement. EVERY SINGLE CAR in the above pics.............myself and my fathers coupe (not pictured) INCLUDED.........GOT A TROPHY!! hahahaha. kickass!! im 2 for 2 this weekend!!!
heres what we were up against........... guy wanted 14,500 for this small blocked econoline.... man i suck at story telling.................
Yeah it was a great time Caffiene. Glad u could join the NJ Rumblers on our first cruise/show and congratulations on another award. (u know we are having and end of the summer "trophy bonfire" where we burn all our trophys?) Wish u could have made it to the biker bar afterwards. around a hundred bikes finishing up a poker run and they still held parking spots for our rods!!?? hung there for a few hours and then headed to Mels for a barbeque. a long, hot, fun day.
