I just got done finishing it this weekend. Ive been building bikes for a few yrs and decided it was time give my car a new look.I chopped it 5-1/2" and installed 51-53 cadi quarters. It took just under 3 months to do. I have it in satin black for now but i would like to do some more work to the front end of it before i paint it. Everyone told me that fastbacks would be the hardest but all in all it went pretty smooth. You guys from the chicago area would know this car as being "Z's" green chevy from the voodoo kings car club. I will post more pics when i get them.

Very nice! Welcome to the HAMB! I have a '50 Fleetline that I plan to chop, how did you cut the back, or did you drop the back into the trunk like the guys in Texas did?

I slanted the trunk with the roof. If i would have gone more then 5-1/2" I would have had a lot more work on the trunk lid. I have a **** load of pics i could email you from the night i chopped it.

Here is a paint scheme for ya and it would look way kool. Flat copper or bronze with painted scallops. Say like lime green or silver? Check out different combos 1st of co****. There are some pics from the 'paso show that have a couple of cars with that setup done. KNUX!

Here is another thing for ya. I think what would look kool on the wheel setup, unless ya got that done?, would be the stock steel wheels and ya can get the '50 merc dog dish caps and find a way to adapt them on. I am doing that setup to my '53 Plymouth wagon. I got the dog dish caps from www.thenightprowlers.com $24 each.KNUX!

Shcweeeeeet! Show some pics of the process!
I always wanted a '49 Cad. My '50 Fleetline was the poorman's answer.
You did like the old Reese's commercial... "Hey, you got Cadillac in my Chevy" "You got Chevy in my Cadillac"
Two great tastes that taste great together.

SkinnyHack: if you decide to chop yours, lemmie know. I'd definately like to help out and see how you do it.
