I was trying to be nice and not say that, but it's true- if you're gonna be a poser with those zoomies that make all this tread bupkus since it's not gonna run fer **** anyway, might as well complete the poser setup and get a worthless Thumpr cam, and it can be a really loud complete bowser

Dont waste your time with a flat tappet cam in a 5.0L. First off it should be a roller block and if it came with all the roller stuff USE IT! If it didnt come with the roller stuff GET IT. Finally if the block for some reason is not a roller then retrofit it to a roller (super easy). Comp XE270HR is a SUPER *****IN street cam, you will NOT be disappointed! You can get crazy with all the different 5.0L heads out there so all Im going to say is AFR 165cc. If not just clean up the stock heads (E7TE) off the 92 5.0L you have and they will run fine with that cam I told you about. I bet you would be looking at around 300 hp. What ever you do DO NOT use a flat tappet cam (why, because you have such a great opportunity to run a roller).

If nothing else, the roller eliminates the ZDDP controversy & and increased power from reduced friction.

Has anyone ever used these? I know they are not the name brand but would they be alright. There is a guy on craigslist that sells them like as a dealer. I called and he said that they now have a new design and that they are alot better then what they used to be. I have no idea of what they used to be. Also as far as the zoomies. I am wanting to make some sort of baffles for them one for the loudness and also to creat some sort of back pressure. Im gonna use washers with holes in them connected to each other by a pipe.
    Thanks for the input everyone.

Its not the lack of back-pressure that causes an approx. 35-50hp loss ( And an even bigger torque loss) with zoomies on a naturally aspirated engine, its the lack of a collector. The exhaust pulses in the collector help to scavenge, or pull the exhaust out of the next cylinder in the firing order on that bank.

Ya beat me to it, and you are correct.

"Back pressure" is the most misused and misunderstood word when it comes to exhaust. You do not want ANY "Back Pressure" - what you want is to control the exhaust flow - Velocity, scavenging, and anti reversion pulsing are what you are trying to control.
The reason Zoomies work on Funny Cars and Top Fuelers is the boost pressure overcomes reversion etc, the blower is forcing the exhaust out.
If they worked on naturally aspirated motors, you would see them on all cl***es of race cars, Pro Stocks etc, not to mention NASCAR, Road Racing etc - but they don't so you don't

    Thanks for the help guys.

No problems per-se. It will start, run, idle drive, ect. As Don has said, you will probably have a lot of issues with reversion(exhaust g***es being pumped back up into the intake tract) and as myself and several others have been telling you, it will be down on power a LOT, and REALLY down on peak torque. Several of the guys that are telling you this are experienced racers, and Don is a header manufacturer. I will say it one more time, if the pose is all that matters go with the dumb-***, hillbilly, poser, zoomies. If power and performance matter AT ALL, you need a header with a collector. I don't think I can make it any more plain.

The only reason I have to have zoomies is because I cant fit normal headers there with the frame clearance. Call me a poser all you want but Ive checked every fitment of roadster headers I can find and I have clearance issues still.

Better deal? http://www.kmjent.com/cart/product.php?productid=4520&cat=17&page=1 Or maybe http://www.skipwhiteperformance.com/detail.aspx?Item=3038-272 Skip White claims that they have upgraded the heads by changing out some of the components from off-shore to USA made parts which is a plus due to some failures(see metalman1's post above) that have been known to exist,if you want the 190cc heads just call them.
