Thanks guys! I'm really proud of the car, and everyone that had a hand in it. Just to name a few: Eric (E.C.), who built the 283; Bucky (famous59), who helped me with the paintwork on the motor a**** other things; Collision Spe******ts, the guys in Mansfield that painted the body and frame; Sean (Fatluckys), for doing the amazing interior; and Steve (ERNST), for making it happen.

If you'll notice, all those guys are Hamb members as well.

Tyler, there was a small snap-shot of my '49 Coupe in issue #21...in the coverage of the first Lonestar Roundup. I did also take home The Rodders Journal Award from that show, but I think that was only because somebody else had already picked Big Ric's '40. :)

Congrats Brian! Definitely well deserved and I am pretty sure this won't be the last of your cars to hit the Rodders Journal. Keep up the great work. I always look forward to seeing what you are creating.

Congrats!!! Having a car in ink is one of the coolest feelings ever. I had the Comet I built for my wife in CarCraft a few years back in I was on cloud 9 for over a year. Just a heads up, let the owners know they may get a call from a company called "In the news" http://inthenewsonline.com/ They make a really cool wall hanging of your car in print at a fair price, I got a few to give to people who helped me with the build and I would strongly recomend they get one, they are worth every penny and it would be a cool Thank You to all that helped.:D

Congratulations on the article! It's so encouraging to see a small shop get the recognition it deserves and brings us back to the way things used to be, where creativity and skill trump a credit card.

    My hats off to you!

And of course, we should thank those two "gold chainers" that had the two cars built! ;- )

This just serves as a reminder that for some of us, this hot rod thing is a business - as well as a p***ion. And writing a check to "artists" such as B*** or Dave Lane is just another way to support and live the dream. Either of those buyers probably could have built a car themselves (maybe not to those standards), but it would take them YEARS (don't ask me how I know this).

So lets finally drop the whole "built myself vs. had it built" trip. I love the fact that talented craftsmen can find patrons to finance their art form.

A Rodders Journal feature is the "Oscars" of hot rodding for sure!

Nice write-up, Brian. I drooled when I saw it in person at the GNRS. You certainly deserve all the accolades coming your way....:)

  16. Congrats on a beautiful car!

That was a great article on both both cars. Two incredible cars built by two extremely talented builders featured in the best publication out there.

    B***-
I heard that Steve will take forever to do his photo shoots because he is such a perfectionist. Everything from the location, the angle, the lighting, to the lettering on the tires has to be perfect. It shows in his work. His photos are stunning.

  17. Congratulations Brian. I saw the ******* at Autorama last year....just fantastic. Well deserved!

A very well-deserved magazine feature for a masterfully-executed hot rod.

    Congrats, B***!

Mr. B*** you deserve it, and I sure hope it is only the first!
I also agree that having a 'patron' allows for the artist's vision to be finished!

    B*** -

As I've stated in other H.A.M.B. threads (& on your fb wall), Congrats on the well deserved recognition of your talents!

ERNST's "Texas *******" Deuce roadster is just plain *****in'! ... as is kaydub's father's Deuce roadster (built by Dave Lane).

Congrats to you man. What a great issue. The 2 Deuce roadsters to start it off then Keith's killer 37 Chevy custom at the end. If I had to pick one over the other, it'd be the one you built for sure !!
