Posted for a part wanted and a guy responded in Leicester, UK. He said he has the part, but wants me to Moneygram or Western Union the money. That makes me leery. He gave me his name and address. He is not a HAMB member. Just wanted to see if one of you members might be close enough to grab the part for me. I am much more comfortable sending money to a HAMB member.

    Thanks, Craig

    unfortunately i agree.....

i bet if you ask for some specific, detailed photographs of the part in question he wont be able to provide them for various reasons.

  8. It would be very unusual for a UK rodder to request payment by Western Union - pretty sure sign of a scam.

    I agree
i would have no idea were to cash in one of these .

ask him for photo's and a full address with phone number

  10. Western Union is the equivalent of handing over a fist full of fivers in a back alley. They don't even need to give WU any ID and there's no chance of getting it back. That's why scammers prefer it to bank transfer and PayPal.

********. I have requested WU money transfer from some people in other countries who order items from me... and I have always had to show an ID when picking up the cash.

Many sellers do not trust paypal... paypal will reverse the payment whenever the recipient of the item says it wasn't received, or was damaged or not as described...
