Building a large gate at new place and need some 4x8 or 4x10 sheets of
Aluminum or Stainless for my gate. Where is best place to buy in Phx area?

Need something that does not rust, time constraint on getting it done or would consider mild steel then have it powder coated. In that case would need a good place for powdercoat?

I have a drawing done by Thom Taylor of a 32 Coupe I would like to put on gate with a plasma cutter just to add that extra touch.

  2. For the metal go to Industrial Metal supply on 44th st just south of Broadway, Tempe address. For powder coat I use Lou out at section 8 powder coating in Apache Junction. Good service, great prices and he has a 64 Lincoln suicide door project. Lot's of rodders use him.

I use IMS as well for remnants and small things, but find their prices a bit high in some cases on full sheets of material. I might suggest dropping a P.M. to Steve (ElPolacko here on the H.A.M.B.) and asking who he buys from. I just helped unload several sheets the other day and he mentioned his supplier had just dropped their price quite a bit. Would be worth checking out. Oh, IMS is on 48th street, not 44th, and if you find your self needing 3003 aluminum here in town town, they are it.

Reliance Metal Center is my first choice for plate and sheet

IMS and Interstate Steel are always s good second for small bits

I use Desert Powdercoat on 35th and Broadway, but there are many others to choose from that do a decent enough job. Powdercoat just isn't that tough to do.

I gotta put down a yes vote for Glendale powdercoat too. ****, now that I think of it, I have used APC that Brady recomended, Glendale, Affordable powder coat (they do metal spray and ceramic coat too), and Dessert powder coat that ElPolacko recomended. All have done good work at about the same price.

    Thanks All!

I priced 16ga stainless and its 450.00 per sheet! OUCH. . . Will have to be Aluminum or Mild steel at that rate.

Does anyone have already powdercoated sheeting?

Got the post hole dug and frame of gate made up now need to get it finished so I can get back on my real "PROJECT".
