Thanks to Rik Hoving for setting this deal up for me, I just purchased the Crespo 40 ford! It is in need of restoration. but the body appears to be intact and unaltered. there are a bunch of mechanical things that were updated over the years that will need to be put bacik to their original configuration. Cant wait to get started on this one!
WOW that is great news! Congratulations, that's a great looking custom. I can't wait to see pictures of the project. Tell us more, where has it been all this time?
Good for you!! Man I can't beleive the amount of sheetmetal work that went into that front end. It hardly even looks like any original parts were used there.
I love the ne seats and steering wheel! Seriously, good for you! That is an awesome find and great of Rik to hook you up. Can't wait to see it return to its glory!! Congrats -Shiny
The car was owned by Bob Crespo until he passed away, I bought it from the guy who bought it from Bobs son. I guess it spent several years under a carport in Colorado
Good for you Mark, I know you're excited. That 40 is definitely.........unusual, a face only a mother could love! It ended up in the right hands. I know you'll do her proud.
to own a peice of automotive history is cool.i like the back end of the car but the front reminds me of a smiling cartoon.but i still would like to have it!!! good score.
Great find and you have already enjoyed the greatest part of all of this, finding it, closing the deal, and carting it home. I know the feeling. I always thought that this was Barris' answer to the El Matador, but I didn't know that Cushenbery actually had a part in the construction. You really are saving some of the most iconic cars in the history of the hobby. Congratulations.
Where in CO? If you don't mind. Not trying to pry. Just trying to figure out how in the hell I live here and NEVER even knew it was close! DAMN! Great score. And it is in even better hands. Con't wait to see her finished!
.......This is one thread I want too see in the future.......can't wait to see the restore...........
How many of the parts are with it? Looks like someone blew it apart to re-do it and never finished. Can't wait to see this one finished!
The car was here in Durango for a long time with his son. The son talked to me several years ago about buying it but he wanted some stupid money for it. He is in construction and has since fallen on hard times and had to sell it. I belive a body shop guy bought and turned it.
