Great time! However, start saving your gas money... it's supposed to go over $4.00 a gallon by May! I went on the Power Tour (Long Haul) 5 times.... in different vechiles. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on (Even better than Shooting or drinking)! In those 5 times, I blew a head gasket in Ohio on the way there and fixed it in a day. Another time it was a starter in Las Vegas (Temp. 102) and one other time it was a fan belt and a wiper blade in West Virgina. There's some nice country out there to see and what better way to see it.... in an old car with other people sharing the same experience! I remember one year a "Trick" Avainti p***ed me at 120mph. Down the road a ways I saw gl*** on the highway, it was from the back window of the Avainti. Seems that the car was finished 2 days prior to the Power Tour and the silicone didn't hold the window in, also he didn't have the moulding installed. A new back gl*** was waiting for him at the next day's stop. Another time I was racing a 38' Ford coupe on the highway and he blew me off. When we got to our final stop that night I walked over to the 38' and the two guys were opening the hood and removing suitcases! Yep, the smallblock was in the trunk! Then there were two Gals that got caught speeding (Over 100mph), I think they worked for Baer Brakes. Anyway, everyone was busting them up and called them "Thelma & Louise!" I'll probaly go again again in the next year or two. GO-Go-Go...you'll love it!
I Long Hauled in 2010 in a 401 cu in 73 Gremlin. 11 mpg vapor lock and a leaky auto trans. Car had no AC and no interior. Small shot of it in the HOT ROD Mag coverage, Red/ White /Blue Gremlin. Nick
