The sun was shining and best of all it was 68 degrees here in West Tennessee today! What better reasons to take the Poncho out for a ride. Didn't go far, maybe ten miles total but after being without a ride for 6 years it was a great time. Before putting it back in the garage I decided to take a few pics just to help keep me stoked through the Winter and document my progress. Thought I would share with my HAMB bretheren. Hopefully soon I can round up a few friends and I can get the hood back on. The last pic is an interesting little trailor my brother-in-law picked up at an auction that I can't delete for some reason. 48 Poncho
Gorgeous car. Have a friend with a similar 'A' bodied '47 Olds convertible, no where as nice as that. Stake bed to on a Model 'A' lower PU base?
Thanks for the compliments guys. I was just lucky to find one in decent shape but believe me there are some flaws. It's not completely HAMB friendly but I did what I could with what I had on hand and could afford. I'm trying to keep a little bit of a traditional look to it as I plod along. I wouldn't have gotten this far without help I found here on the HAMB. 48 Poncho
Got to show this to my brother. Might motivate him to start working on his 49 Poncho I'm sure he has time...Right after he finishes his 49 Prefect and Bronco rock crawler and prepping his bracket racer and readying his kids Jr. Dragster
They don't have to be friends Bobby! You're just as welcome to help as they are! No, just kidding man. Today was beautiful. Don't know when it will be this nice again, probably a while. Hope you got your shifter fixed. 48 Poncho
Saw your Buick in the "Bombs" thread last night, That's a classy ride. I drove a 4-door 48 Buick in a parade for a buddy of mine many years ago. I guess you could say that's when I started getting into the 42-48 GM cars. 48 Poncho
