This car better get me laid!!!! PICS!!!!!

Im sick and tired of hearing these car-illiterate kids at school sayin "hey Giacalone, you got that car done yet?" just about every day. Making fun of me that ive been saying im building a hot rod. I graduated and i still didnt get to show them *******s what i could build. But i dont even car anymore. They will see me drivin it cus it sure as hell wont be sitting in the garage!

Now that, thats out of my system. Im soooo ready to drive this car!

The Goal (not to be confused with 'deadline' deadlines are for making businesses, goals are for hobbys. haha. i just made that up)

Anyways,,,,,,,the goal is the Nationals in Louisville Ky. Apparently i made a drunken 500 dollar bet that i would have it there so that gives me and my dad all the more reason to do it!

Ok, so heres what we got done on my 32.
Bodywork is 90% done.
Cowl Vent is in and works nicely.
Swing out windsheild swings out.
Made the roll pan for the back.
Lots of little stuff really.

Heres what needs to be done in the next 7 weeks.
Mount the seats.
Take the whole car apart.
Put the cam in the motor.
Paint the whole ch***is.
Prime the body.
Run the break lines.
Put the whole car back together.
Wire it.
And all that other miscelaneous **** that takes time.

There alot of work to do but i think we can do it.

Now on to the pictures. I seriously think the car looks alot better than it does in these pictures. You cant really appreciate the stuff we did without seeing it in person.

Roll pan and taillights.^^^^^^^^^I was thinking of making some kind of nerf bar to wrap around the rear area to protect the gas tank in back. it would **** to get rear ended. Will it look too crowded with a nerf bar?

I made that box thing to cover the gas tank.^^^^^^^ It will double as someplace to sit at shows i guess. haha

So to sum it all up. This car better get me laid! and if not. i know it will still be fun as hell. My dad is the coolest guy ever.

i wouldnt clutter the pan with a bar, unless perhaps behind it or something. you are right thinking it'd clutter the looks which are real clean now man... your right this BETTER get you laid man... if it dont get you some trim i doubt you could in a womans prison with a case of trojanz an a hand fulla pardons

I get laid even without my cars. But then, that is just me! I love yer ride dude! I love the back door on it. It is cl***ic. It is going to look great when finished. A little 'ol saying from the wise, some times less is better. Pertaining to you on putting a bar of some sort to protect the gas tank just in case of a roll in from behind? I would leave it alone in me opinion. Keep us all posted on yer *****in ride! KNUX!

Everybody I know has asked me when am I going to get my car done And that is a lot of pressure... but life happens you are at the best time in your life to get it done right NOW!!! I am 43 now and I have friends to help me (when I let them) but still it is hard work even harder to get down on that cold concrete at night after working 14 hours for some ****py boss who could care less about my life!!!..ANYWAY,

Who cares what the "F" they say... it is your car!!!!!

I do suggest just getting it running first just the basics not finished it will impower you with energy!!!

No Paint, No Upolstery put the cam in get it running drive it around the block break it in!!!!!

Now, most important which I am going to do myself!!!

Get off this message board (only use it once a week!!!!)

And go to bed and get some sleep!!!!! REST YOUR BRAIN!!!!!

Car looks great Nick, it's come along way with a lot of nice touches. I only wish my first Hot Rod was that cool.

Car-illiterate's are never going to get it, none of it matters, as long as you get it.

Anyway that car is looking stellar Nick. I would like to say don't rush it now for the sake of just driving it and showing some people what you have. Alot of those other High School kids might not get it anyway. More so if the car is not finished.

But.....On the other hand it may not hurt to shake it down and have some fun with it this summer, since you have been working on it for quite a while now.

But if you are gonna drive it unfinished anyway, don't bother painting the frame now. It's just a time consuming step at this point and will get messed up to the point where you will have to repaint it anyway.

You may want to consider a full on mock up with everything tight, make it run and drive, and enough wiring to make it charge and have some lites.

Have some fun with it this summer and then when the bad weather comes again(and it will trust me) then Blow it apart and paint it and detail it to perfection.

oh yeah..i think a chrome nerf bar on each side between the tail lights and license plate coming up from beneath the roll pan and straight up with a "S" curve to a point would look great

 

The car is looking good. People tend to mock what they don't understand, so don't worry about it, they won't be flipping you **** when its done!

If you can't get laid with the car, I have heard that $100 can achieve the same results.

as for the nerf bar idea. i don't think it would be too much. i've been trying like hell to find a pic of what i have in my mind but this pic is the closest i could come. instead of the flat stock coming out of the body have the bottom of the round stock curve under the rear of the body and attach to the frame underneath. also, eliminate the bar across the middle. make sense??

I got a thirty year head start on you, Nick, and you're still cooler than me Haring nailed the rear bar look, btw. You should go in that direction, IMHO.

As far as gettin laid......I had my best luck with a Jaguar XJ sedan. Chicks don't always understand hot rods, but they understand money(or the illusion of HAVING money )
