Looking for some pics. of the "Jolly Dolly". This car was and is still a great inspiration to me. I own a full ch***is '39 that I have had since High School. The G***er of Bob Bernardon's has sparked the fire to get mine done!

Rodder's Journal did a full feature on that car if you can find it....I'll take a look to see what issue. One of my all time favorite Chevs.

Yours Truly on the left and the late Bob Bernardon on the right with his car at Indy. We lost him 6 months later to cancer. Great guy and a wonderful car. In the last 55 years (1957-2012) that car has had two owners: Bob Bernardon and current owner Charlie Gauthier (Bob's good friend for many years). The car is in good hands!

Jolly Dolly, One of my all-time favorites. That car was always impeccable.

You can't talk about famous cars from the DC area without including the "Jolly Dolly" These are my favorite shots that were taken at the Ram Rods DC armory show. Check out the coils, Spalding Flame thrower and the generator. You want to know what a show car looked like in the 60s....this is it. Notice it still had tags back then. It changed over the years but it was always top drawer. IIRC it has a BBC now.

Tommy....not any more! The current owner has put it back almost exactly like that engine photo. Hilborn Inject Small Block just like in the heyday. Many of the parts cam from Bob Bernardon's attic. His wife Dolly (that's where the car name came from) has turned over tons of stuff to Charlie Gauthier, the new owner. I think that Spaulding Flamethrower Distributor was in the pile of parts.

The right thing has happened to this car!!!

That's great news. I had a Spalding back then on a 38 Chevy coupe and idolized the Jolly Dolly.

Jolly Dolly Engine earlier this past year. Injector stacks have since been chromed. The aluminum set-back firewall is the original one done by Bob Bernardon in about 1964 or 65.

Original Interior (50+ years old). I believe everything in there is original except maybe that Tach. It's gone now!

Is it still in the DC area or is it down south near you?

It is in The Plains, Virginia just outside the Washington, D.C. area. Same town as Jim and Allison Lee if your remember the old Top Fuel days.
