Just received the news from Rocky that Lynn has just p***ed away due to complications of open heart surgery. Lynn is one of the original Pan Draggers of Fresno. I have known him for many years and was a contraversial guy but good hearted and very good to me and my family.
Lynn was part uncle and part Big brother to me, always good for a Joke, Story or a helping hand. When he told a story I would soak it up like a little kid, I'm sure he embellished some but the lived and loved friends and cars. Lynn was also intramental in my pursuit to have an Eagle Field event. Lynn came into my life in the 80's and after getting to know him I found he'd known me since I was baby as his Dad and mine used to Jeep together. After I started working with him and talking to people we knew I stated joking with him that "I wasn't sure whether to shake a persons hand or DUCK" after mentioning his name. All I can say is I loved the guy and will miss him. God Speed my friend, Rocky
Lynn was a friend to many people, let's keep him close to our hearts and the front page. He didn't do computers, but he did do cars, man I'll miss him!
I would stop and see him about once a week. he was only about 5 house off the main road.He has a nice Merc. When I would see him, I would always say " hey mister do you want to sell that old jalopy" He was a fun guy to be around I sure will miss him, Rest in piece my friend!
Lynn was a friend and fellow Pan Dragger, he will be missed so much around the hot rod community. When my dad p***ed away suddenly about ten years ago Lynn was always checking in on the family to make sure everything was taken care of. He had a big heart and there will be a huge void that can't be filled. I miss you already buddy
A few photos of my friend! This includes Ken Coventry and a fellow Pan Dragger. His and Anna's Merc. Here he is with Friend Ken Abby
Rocky....thanks to you and Ken Abby I got to know Lynn better....I'd met him a few times in the past...but Eagle Field and Ken Abby kind of forced Lynn on me.... Lynn was always good to me.... everytime we met it was like seeing an old friend....GOD SPEED LYNN....God must have needed a sweet Merc in heaven.
Very Sad to hear, count me as one that also really enjoyed conversations with Lynn. I will remember him as a great guy that was always quick to help and always had a great story to tell. RIP friend. Prayers go out to Stan and the rest of the family.
Have had the great pleasure of having Lynn as a neighbor and good friend for the past three years, he was always here to give a helping hand and he never expected anything in return. I will miss him driving so slow by my house on the way to the diner for his morning coffee and how he would pull into my driveway and shut off and roll to the stop. It is my understanding that the services will be graveside only on Thursday Jan 12 2012 at 2 o'clock at the easton cemetary just off highway 41
I just informed my Dad of Lynn's p***ing and he seemed shocked after just having spoken with him last week. I did not know him personally but its always sad to lose a local Hot Rodder, there arent enough of us in the Fresno area to begin with. RIP Lynn.
Graveside services at the Washington Colony Cemetary, Elm Ave. (Old hwy 41) south of (Easton) Adams ave. Thursday @ 2PM like Gerry said. Rocky
