Just installed a 51 F1 box in my AV8 but now I need a 7 inch pitman to clear my header. any idea where to get one? I understand all pitmans from 32 up to 52? will fit it but not sure if any are this length? I realize it will make my car steer more quickly which can be a problem but I need to give it a try. thanks

Just find another pitman arm and put the two together to get the desired length. They are forged not cast so they are easily welded!!

I had thought about that but thought I would see if there is one already the right length since I will need to buy one anyway. I have no idea if ford actually made a stock pitman around 7 inches. If no luck I will be looking for another F1 like I have.

    Don't quote me on this---

When I was doing the steering on my A, using a Saginaw 525 box intermediate GM 60s to 70s box I was told after I was done that a early cross steer arm from a Ford car had the same diameter and spline and could have been used.

Did not follow up on it,as I was done.

May be worth checking on.
