Magnets and metal chips

    OK Guys, here's a really big one. How do you guys get metal shavings and chips off your shop magnets

    Might try using a stronger magnet covered in a plastic bag. If you've got one stronger anyway.

    If they are the REALLY strong ones...neomidium, rare earth, whatever...you really need the plastic bag or pretty soon everything you own is going to be all balled up together...

    I normally herd all the chips to one edge of the magnet, then pull them off with a shop rag. Never thought of the plastic bag method, but will be using that from this day forward.

    blow gun or wipe off with rag as said.
    I always forget and go to wipe off with fingers... never ends well..

    Licking them using gets them off for me too. Make sure you go for the man in the canoe, not the canoe itself.

    Air gun then store them in zip lock bags, keeps em clean until you need them.

    I found that a powerful magnet in a plastic bag and then reversing the bag over the metal particles is just the "Bee's Knees"!

    I use a wire brush and I use power wire wheels. I don't put them in cups or bags but, I could. I use them wrapped with eletric tape.

    Thanks for the "useful tips" On my powerful magnets duct tape, air gun, shop rag, wiping by hand, none of them work but thanks for the plastic bag tip

    I put grave trane on mine and let the neabors dog lick them off.:eek: Now He dont poop in my yard no more ...:D:D.
