I get a 50/50 split on it when people see it. Either they really love it or really hate it, there seems to be nothing in between. Personally I love it, It was built in an era where there were no boundries. Dave Puhl was a genius

I've been fascinated by it and most of the real radical customs from the era.

Damnit OLDBEET, I nearly **** myself!

This vehicle is from the kustom era I call "The Bathtub Acid Era" a
time before words like "retro" & "trad-kustom" had entered the
lexicon. Say what ya will about the "style" or "era",but if ya have
ever built a kustom, ya gotta hand it to them for the work!

    Happy Xmas!

  7. Whether you love it or hate it,it is still a significant piece of the heritage that is our world.I for one am glad it is being preserved(I would rather see it left as is,but it's not my car)for others to enjoy.Better than being a trash receptacle in front of a **** shop.

It is sort of like in the late 40's and early 50's when it was common for someone to take an old Packard or Rolls-Royce and turn it into a wrecker or a pickup truck. They didn't see it as destroying a cl***ic but rather utilizing a piece of equipment.

The 60's show cars were extreme but no more so than some of the vehicles currently in fashion.Just a different(and sorely missed)time.

While the Trendero is not something I would build I still like it and would definitely put it in my garage any day.

no this is dave's only car that did not run, the deal was dave did the body work and john did the engine and drive train. yellow or gold, does it realy matter, as long as it is saved....

I sec, gee thanks, I'll be looking for it.

By ugly, I meant of its time, it's pretty special, I'd drive it, but I'm afraid it might attract a lot of attention.

well i guess you never seen some of dave's other cars ?? he didn't do thing for show points! he did cars the way he thought they should look, if you took your's to him and sead customize it it might not end up like you wanted, dave did things his way only, and if you didn't like it oh well.and somewere on here some one said it was a bird front end, look at ranchero they had the same type of sheetmetal.

It has not yet been restored. Saw it last week or so ago, same condition.

It's out west now at Galpin auto sports with Roth's orbitron and other high end restos.

For me, it's a tough call whether I'd restore it to the original yellow, or preserve it, since it's in pretty amazing original shape for sitting under a tarp in a body shop for so many years....
