I am not that familiar with Barry Lobeck or his shop. I keep hearing the term the "Lobeck Look". What exactly is the "Lobeck Look"?
"Chopped, BLACK" "BLACK and CHOPPED" Nuff Said, Have a Good Day..................................................
It is the Ohio look, or maybe even more specifically the Southwest Ohio look. The Springfield/Dayton/Cincinnati area. (Barry's shop was originally in Springfield) It's hard to describe, but a lot of it has to do with profile and stance. Some things they have in common are straight spoke Americans/ETs or Halibrands. Small VW tires in front and stuff as much meet as you can in back. Also, you have to sit low in the car, most of the time you can barely see the guy's head above the window sill. (You think I'm joking, but I'm not) Solid colors and for the most part, traditional bodies (kept the door handles, hinges, etc) Commerical headlights on Deuces and 33/34. Like mentioned above, google "Barry Lobeck", "Cincy Street Rods", or "Ohio look" Finally, The Rodder's Journal did an article about a couple of Springfield rods and tried to explain it too... probably better than I am.
I remember seeing his cars with Big Window Halibrands in the rear, and little ones in front. Usually a 32 Roadster highboy.
BLawrence from the HAMB owns one. It's the only roadster I can sit comfortably in at a little over 6'1" tall
HAHA, the Riverside look is a pair of acid wash jeans, a Van Halen '87 World Tour t-shirt and a 1/4 pound of Meth stuffed in the door panel of your El Camino.
I beleive this CLOWN was stopped by the California State police and charged with 3 counts of common GOOF........I don"t think he"s from Ohio....... They aren"t innerbread in Ohio.......This guy has that look...
He had stance , profile and stagger down to an art form when everyone else still had 60 series tires hanging 3inches out of the front fenders .
This question was just answered a few days ago on another thread.....I don't know how to post a link though.
