  2. Mr, Edell,
I hate to say this and you no doubt have already figured this out but it may not be as easy as someone going down there and picking up the parts. If he had them he probably wouldn't mind getting them to you.

I thought him or someone affiliated with him was on the board?

Its worth a shot anyways..Im too far and too busy to head up to Portland these days..

  4. About 11 hours. I never realized it was that far. I used to make the rtrip from the bay Area on my bike all the time, perhaps it was the condition that I was riding in, or the fact that I didn't own a watch I would just light out. :D

My girl is just across the river, I would offer her services but she has the same temperment as I do. I would have to drive the 25 hours from here to get her out of jail after he didn't have the parts or got snotty with her and she wailed the crap out of him.

Should be a local that see this.

Just a note: Not to be confused with Steve Frisbie of Steve's Auto Restorations.

Are you sure that's a legit address? I did a quick check on google, and saw an "omega motors" a little down the street from 5717, but there's not much around that address.

There's a cluster of businesses near there, but the directory for that cluster doesn't mention Steve's Restoration on it.

Also, no google results for "steves restoration" when searching with that address...

    M Edell,
I might be able to help out, send me a PM and we'll see if we can work something out.

It's possible the guy doesn't even have the parts, but if I can help out I'm willing to give it a try.

Looks like he has a bunch of rough looking cars out back when you put the
    4440 S.E. 174th ave
Portland, OR 97236 on Google maps and get a close view.

I figure you have to charge it up to educational costs and move on and probably should have had someone check it out before bidding on it.

I don't want to throw a wet towel on the idea of getting your parts, but I'm sure I read in a very similar thread either on this board, or maybe on tri-five, that either one or both parties (i.e., the owner of the parts, or the person who goes to get them for you) could incur some serious liability should something go wrong. I'm afraid I can't recall the details of it all, but I think there was an attorney even in on the brief discussion, and he warned -- really pretty strongly -- against such a plan. Seems the thrust of his argument was that if this shop owner is such a total jerk, irrational behavior may not be beyond him at all, and things could get outta hand really quickly. You may want to check into that before you go thru with anything just yet.

Sure hope you get your stuff ...

That was kind of the point I was making about not sending the girl.

That's the address of a different shop (supposedly) from what OP is dealing with.

    Address OP provided:

    5717 NE 105th ave suite C, Portland, Oregon 97220

Checking the address OP provides yields no business. There is a place called omega motors, but the address for that yard is 5736. I might have time after work today to drive by for the OP and see if there's an actual business with that name/address combo, it's not too far from where I live.

This is NOT the same shop! This is how good peoples reputations get tarnished on the Internet! Do some research before shooting your keyboard off. If you would have read my post just above yours you would have read its NOT THE SAME SHOP! Steve Frisbie of SAR or Steve's AUTO RestorationS is a great guy and doesn't need his name drug through this...

That's not Steve from Steve's Auto Restorations my friend. I talked to this Steve and he has never had or sold a 56 Buick wagon, so if you bought a car from someone who claims to be Steve Frisbie, you have been duped. The real Steve is very upset that someone has portrayed themselves as him to sell a car. He said that he would love to know who that other person was so he could stop that sort of thing. If you have some information on the "Phantom Steve" it may be worth your while to let the real Steve know about it. He could have one of his employees go over and investigate the situation if you like, if they can find the "Phantom Steve" that is. You can get his phone number in a Google search, I don't want to give it to you as it is not my place to do that. It might be the right thing to do if you corrected the wrongs in your post also. What has been posted is damaging to an innocent persons reputation. Just a suggestion.
