Came across this 1933 ford pickup a few weeks back, was a rod from way back in the day, used to be a push/ consession truck on sat night at capitol Speedway in my home town since the day the track opened. Low and behold here it is virtually untouched as it was. Some street rodder had it and was going to rod it, so some of the cool stuff is long gone. (Damn it!!!) Had a 283 with a LaSalle trans and a 48 Lincoln 2spd rear, all long gone. But the body and most of the frame are un touched. 55 chevy dash, Ansen pedals, frenched lower hinges, or at leat that is what I call them, they are tapered and molded. Full set of Moon discs with the track logo on them, NO rust at all. Currently has a stock 34 front and rear with 39 juice brakes. Guy called me and said he was recomended to me to put it on Ebay, I said I may be interested, as I had heard rumors of this truck for years. just shy of 2 weeks later and it is MINE!!! Plans are to just put a flatty in it and go!!! But I do have to finish paying for it first. I'll post more pics saturday as it comes into the light of day for it's first time in many years. You can still faintly see the checkerd flags painted on the doors with the speedway logo, but some nitwit primered over it at one time!!! Visor will be called in to help here!!! Later, Trailer Ed.
The grey primered one is the one I've had for a while, belive it or not, it is a 4200 actual mile truck. I bought it from the original owner!!!!
I was up at Trailer-Ed's last week and saw this truck as well as a lot of other neat stuff he has. I'm a pack rat but when I collect stuff it's usually junk.....not neat finds like his. BTW, thanks for the "tour". Baby here yet?
I think it would be neat if you could somehow trace or reproduce that race track logo and have it painted on the doors again when you finish the truck. Super find, I'm jealous. Frank
