My friend found this in an old mans wood shed. After 50 hours and a 4 door donor, we have a 33 willys coupe fit for a g***er.
HOLY MOLY! If that ain't a Lazurus act, I dunno what is! Nice save Jim. How long was in in the works, repairs-wise?
Well, I went and got it 2 weeks ago. 50 hrs of work by 2 of us and here it is ready for the sand blaster.
holy **** man, looks like some killer work, 2 weeks to knock that out is outrageous...congrats man, looks killer
Jim when I saw you post about making a 3w top I knew you were an artist but now I know you are truely a meracle worker!!!! SUPER job man!!!
Great job on the coupe but your transportation methods give me the willys, is that coupe on top of your lumber rack? :-o
The transport is a story all its own. We travelled80 miles to find the trailor we were gonna use was not there. Iether was the guy that was supposed to help us load it. My friend Dan, and myself muscled those cars on the truck with nothing but an old engine lift and a rope. The 4 door has a frame and some running gear in it. This was a back breaker to say the least. jim
Cool, got any more pics of the "reconstruction"? Is that Will Farrell helping you load the donor car?
All I can say is wow!!! I love 33 Willys. I've got a gl*** one that I sorta lost iterest in. I saw your post on fenderless Willys but don't have any pics in the computor. It's been done and looks OK, but not great. Nobody has tried to do one with a traditional look. Maybe keep the hood get rid of the fenders and put tall skinny bias plys on it. The two I saw that were fenderless were tubbed with big tires. Try contacting the guy that replied to your fenderless post. He's big time into Willys. Clark
heres a ? for thewillys guys. im thinkin of doin it kinda traditional hot rod. Flathead, chopped, fenderless and an open driveshaft banjo rearend. Is this gonna be sacreligious to the willys or kinda a cool different way to go?
