I was looking at my cracked to **** dash in my Rivi and was thinking i need to look more like a pimp. Angle hair seemed the logical answer in the local fabric place it was called "grizzley hair" but thats not imprtant but dose sound more manly. Which is nice because I was holding the old ladys purse while she cut my swatch. The fabric store is new and confusing to me.

Anyway to my point all they have is white and I don't think that will look very good with the blue interior. Anyone here ever dyed this stuff with any sucsses?

Forget it. That stuff gets filthy in about two weeks and you'll be ripping it out again. Unless you're just making a "slip cover" remmovable dash cover for it.
What is it about white that doesn't go with blue?
    Ask any sailor!!!

Instead, get some cardboard, about the weight as on the back of a paper tablet, only bigger sheets, and make a slightly undersize copy of your dash with glue, tape, staples whatever, then fibergl*** over the outside of it about three layers of cloth and then get that upholstered to match your interior. If you "fudge" the dash shape into only contours the cardboard can bend, it shouldnt be any trouble to upholster with just a seam showing across the front edge, like many dashes have molded nto the plastic anyway.
Work in the fastener method back in the cardboard/gl*** phase so you can mount it when it's done.

well, if you go with the slip cover idea, and dont mind some work, dye it a dark color so it hides dirt better. Use RIT dye, you can pick it up at CVS, Walmart, grocery store, you know...folow the instructions on the box, THEN cut it and sew it and everything into your slip cover...if you do it before, good luck stretching it on.

I had a white dog once, it got into some Port A Potty dye, it seemed to color his fur very nicely. After the smell was gone the color stayed there for a good while, looked pretty good.

Maybe you could get a big bucket and a few tablets of 2000 Flushes and dye your own.
