Well, I got my PG buttoned up last night, gettin' ready for Bowling Green. Then miss- fortune showed up(Damn her!!):( The tiny E clip on the governer decides to let loose, the gov. weight slings off, destroys itself, and knocks a 3" hole in my tailshaft to boot!! Does anyone in the house have a spare gov, assembely, and tailshaft for an alum. powerglide?? Close to Nashville, but I can drive,or will pay for overnite shipping. Please help me! I WILL be at HRR!!!Thank you. Sparky:confused:

i've got a complete aluminum pg you can have if you can get it from here (columbia, missouri; on I-70 half way between kansas city and saint louis) to there. came out of my son-in-law's '72 nova a few months ago. it was behind a 6 cylinder engine; probably the original engine/tranny from '72. he pulled it to put in a crate 350 and 5-sp manual. the car was running (it was his daily driver) when he pulled it.

anyone able to do a hamb relay REAL SOON?

if you're interested call me on my cell 573-864-4007. i'm about to walk out the door and won't be home 'til tonight.

Thats awfull nice of you Mike! I wonder If anyone out your way is comming to Bowling Green?? Thank you!! On a addendum to this story,I followed the trail of tranny fluid this morning, and FOUND the small gov. valve, and two pieces of the trans case, beetween my 500' GRAVEL driveway, and about 1/4 mile of road!!!:) The gov. pin is still bent 180 deg. I May be able to straighten it. Then JB weld the pieces to the tailshaft, and Still make the HRR!! If anyone can get that trans to HRR,I WILL supply a weekend's worth of cold brew!! Thanks again Mike!! VIVA LA HAMB!!:D Sparkles

Yes Fiddy Four. JB done the job good! I used a piece of fiberglass cloth to reinforce it. I drove it today(hard) and no leaks, squeeks, or streaks:D Sparkles
