    I have a 1950 Ford convertible with the X member frame. I will be installing Fatmans Mustang two front end clip with rack and pinion steering. I need tech info on installing a 2011,2012 Mustang V6 or the new Coyote V8 engine with Automatic trans. in my shoebox. Can you direct me to any Tech articles on this engine swap. I'm concerned about the clearence with the frame and front end with the stock location of the A/C comp.,Alternator,and the P/S pump on the new Ford engines. Thanks for your help!:)

    Yep, it's probably best to take that question over to www.hotrodders.com Those guys are pretty well game for anything that equals "more power". The traditional police will slap the snot out of you over it here if the mods don't lock the thread first.

    here is how you do it;
    Center the engine side to side or don't it, can be offset to the passenger side some if need be.
    Then position it front to rear, remember you can change the firewall but the radiator can only go so far forward and remember puller fans works better but if you have to you can use a pusher.
    Next, the angle of the engine can be set. usually about two degrees down in the rear.
    After you have the position set, secure it temporarly. Now make sure you can get exhaust and steering on the drivers side.

    If you have all that done simply fabricate and install the some mounts, a firewall, new inner fenders, a new tunnel, figure out the wiring, cooling system and anything else i didnt think of. Easy right?
