I would suggest not going to paint till you figure out a color, and yes we need to know what kind of car it is, or pics of what you got so far?

  4. I'm guessing, the coupe?

I have always like the washington blue w/black, but without seeing pictures of your coupe, I couldn't give a recommendation in good conscience...

I've always dug the cream/black combo or all black with tasteful cream pinstripe accents. Not gobs of striping, mind you, simple and tasteful. If you would like me to Photoshop it for ya shoot me a pm.

    Black.....Duh....;)

  9. Nice car! With a black interior the colour choice is wide open..! Darks always look good, '50s metallics are big, and lighter/brighter colours photograph best. There, aren't you glad I stopped by?

Seriously, I can't think of too many colours that wouldn't work on your coupe. Think of what your favourite colour is generally (favourite jacket, old toy, beer label..?) and go from there. After all you have to live with the choice for a while.

Let us know what you pick.

For something a little different, how about flat black with red rims.

  20. If you're looking to go old sckool how bout an early Ford color? One of my favs is the robins egg blue or the greyed version of it.
Here's an example of an amazing 33 modified roadster/coupe I saw last year at GNRS. Paint was a bit tweaked but folks I met said it was a PPG color, of course nothings as simple as a chip but this roadster was stunning!!!
Hope I get to see it again this year and talk to them again, loved it.

Don't paint it, let it sit outside for many years and accrue one of those wonderful patinas that your grandchildren would be sure to love. Won't cost you a dime.

I'm getting ready to have mine painted in a couple weeks too. I've avoided input from friends, just so I'm not swayed towards what they want vs. what I might choose. I'm leaning towards candy apple red, but in a modern version that wont take 3-4 stages to get there.

Saw a Fiat yesterday with that hard to hit khaki color. They call it mocha latte.
