Wats the story on the Auto Ranch , Salvage yard north of Dallas on I-35? Right off the bat I see a 40 sedan and some other old stuff, but I would guess you can't deal with the guy, any one been there and tried? Drove down to Dallas this week from Derby and was going to stop on the way back but figgured as close to the highway as he is , he's probably real proud of his stuff.

  4. You talking CTC Auto Ranch in Denton? That's where I bought the ELMOBILE. They advertise in Hemmings. I couldn't be happier with my dealings with them. Wayno

I have seen it but can't figure how to get to it from 35. You guys are talking about the one on the west side of the highway right?

He is not high,if you would consider $400 for a 53 Chevy front fender with plenty of dents a good price or a pair of 194 core small block heads for $750 or how about a bench seat frame for a '57 Chevy tudor for $1200.Thats why he has so much inventory.I have been there a few times to look and get ideas and he does have alot of cool stuff ,but nothing I can afford.

Good selection of parts, the only good deals are the complete cars. He had (has?) a complete and relatively clean '59 DeSoto 4dr that runs and drives for $3800. Then when I asked for motor mount brackets for a '57 Plymouth with a V8 (you have to torch them off) he quoted me a price of "$1000, and it will come with the rest of the crossmember." You've GOT to be kidding me.

Think I'd spend another $2800 and get the whole car....

That place is just right up the road from me. He has tons of stuff, but some things he'll only sell complete. He's also been known to quote a price and then double it when you come back the next day. It's really a last resort stop. He does most of his business from Hemmings, so I don't think he minds running off the local crowd.

He wanted $175+ $25 shipping for a simple window frame (minus the glass) for the driver door of my 53 Pontiac HT. Without the glass. I found it for $50 with one other simple phoonecall. And this one came with all the hardware, rollers, mechanism........... I'll never use that place.

Try county line classics or henderson which is near cedar creek there real nice folks. What are you looking for I may be able to lead to the right salvage yard for your needs.
