250 HP 327="power pack" heads, small 4 bbl (either Rochester 4GC or Carter WCFB) and exhaust manifolds with 2 inch outlets 300 HP 327="double hump" heads (with 1.94/1.50 valves), larger 4 bbl (Carter AFB on corresponding cast iron intake manifold), and exhaust manifolds with 2.5 inch outlets Those specs cover '62-'65. In '66-'67, there was but one 327 in full size cars; it had double hump heads, a variety of 4 bbl carbs (AFB, AVS, Holley, or Rochester Quadrajet), and the 2 inch outlet exhaust manifolds, factory rated at 275 hp.
the 283 "powerpack" had a TPEE identifier on the front of the head (same place the double humps can be found) right or wrong any engine with this identifier was called a POWERPACK head a lot of 327"s had this head
It seems like most of the 327's I ever messed with had a "double hump" 461 or 462 head of some sort on it. Some of them were high performance, some of them weren't. Larry T
