I tried it as you know, and wasn't terribly happy with the results. Hope yours turned out cooler than mine - see below.

What the hell is that chopper. I'm not sure if it's some sort-a football helmet or a automotive part i've never seen before.

Just so you know I went out and got some sculpy to try my hand at making a knob and didn't get nearly as far. I was good at making balls though!

Why does he give you a free spark plug with each knob?

    Just kidding.

  11. I have my Dad's collection of knobs from the 50s - early 60s (that's when he collected them). I'll try to take some pics tonight and post them tomorrow. I don't remember off hand if there is anything super unusual, it's just there are so many of them.

Here's a beer tap I acquired a while back. It's from 1935 from a brewry in Staten Island New York. I fandangled a new shifter rod for it. I wanted the wording to be upright for the 3-on-the-tree.

I have a check on the way to Roger right now. Great guy. Can't wait to dig into that book and drop the caps on my caddy.

I just started this web page this afternoon. It has problems and is incomplete but there are lostsa knob photos.

There will be a Hamber's discount on these or a contribution to help fund this great site.

    Thanks, Dan

    definately...keep me posted.

I have an auto on the column 53 caddy. Wouldn't mind a mini version for the blinker either. If i had the gear I'd give it a shot...I'll keep a look out for some green.

    N8inks -

WOW! I musta missed that post. Do you remember the title? Those turned out great!

A lot of great custom stuff here - makes me want to collect them - like I( need another hobby!

Maybe I need to build a car around a knob!

  30. I've been sanding with 400, 600 and then buffing on the wheel at work. I use a clear solvent.. can't remember the name right off. The pics look better than the knobs, but thet'll work ok. Some opaque acrylic would be much easier.
