Take a look at any car from the '70s, and imagine how the quarters from that car would look on a '53 Chevy.

You could use anything you want as long as you can make it fit. I used a wheelbarrow from the lumberyard on mine. lol

In that case, maybe you could.....but why? Outer wheelwell patch panels for your car are both available and affordable.

If you're just talking about cutting up a random old panel to make yourself some new patch panels, then sure, you can do that, i do it all the time. I use roof skins and old hoods and doors to make patch panels with, it's cheaper than buying a new piece of sheetmetal and often times it has nice curves and bends in it that can be used.

Of course you don't want to put a whole 70's quarter panel on a 50's Chevy, and it wouldn't pay to buy a new replacement panel for a different car just to cut it up and make patches with it. Not 100% sure what you were thinking of doing here?

If you are talking the inner qtr. wheelhouse, I thought of using repo 55 Chevy inners and making them work since you can get them. Ended up just fixing mine. But some of the later model cars might work if you can see them and measure them. Look thru the repo catalogs .
