Your son Bill does some fantastic work, Pat! It's always great to have someone carry on the hot rod legacy in the family. I'd be proud too! Thanks for posting up the pics of his work!

Thanks everyone for all your positive responses, it's good to know I'm not making a bunch of mistakes here! Just wanted to chime in and let everyone know that Nick's merc was chopped by Matt Townsend down in south CA; it's one of the nicest looking chops I've seen on a Merc, and the quality is outstanding. Wish I could take credit for it! He did a LOT of rust repair and also did the grille.

I know I don't post very often here on the hamb, partially because I don't know how to use modern technology ("like father like son" goes both ways), but I also don't have much time to email, let alone post pics and all that. I'll try to get more up here in the future.

Thanks again! And thanks Dad for the kind words and taking the time to put together the post!

    Bill Ganahl

(if you're confused by Slixauto, it's my old shop name, since been changed to South City Rod and Custom)

    Bill,
One of the memorable times that I recall seeing you was @ Java Lanes when the Shifters had their Hot Rod Party around Aug,99? You were checking out all of the Iron, I drove our banger beater 27-T-ster, I was watching both you and your dad and could tell that you were on the right track even then.

Good luck with your business and making many more things happen in this great industry.

Thanks Cyclone Kevin, to say that a kid with a peagreen and purple scalloped shoebox was on the right track is kind of a stretch though! Hope I've refined my taste a little since then. Was that really in '99?!!! Seems like yesterday to me . . .

  8. Went in to Brizio's today. Dave C referred me to Bill Ganahl to graft some fenderwells into my 55 for custom skirts.

Dave provided me with Bill's phone number, but I'd really like to go to Bills shop with a few pieces of metal to help him visualize the work I'm looking for.

I couldn't find Bills shop "South City Rod & Custom" in a google search.

    Any leads on his shop?

    Thx, David

Must be just great to see your son succeed in this way! Now if I could just get my two boys to look twice at my 34 Ford coupe......
