There is another thread exactly like this, but in the spirit of shameless self promotion, here's another shot of mine taken by Buddy Palumbo at a HAMB gathering last year. Also, there's a couple of old pics, just to show that this style did go back aways. Oh, and another with the new tailights.

I sure do. I decided that I had too much extra room in the garage, so...

haha. Just kidding. The plan is as follows:
I have a 50s period build in mind with 1957 as my cutoff date. Unless the part is necessary for safety, or is a reproduction of a part made in the 50s, there won't be much noticeable on the truck newer than 1957.

That being said, my plans for the ch***is are the original '34 front axle and transaxle spring out front, split wishbones, '40 Ford brakes, 1957 Ford 9" rear, quarter elliptical leaf springs in back, and 1940 Ford steelie rims and blackwall piecrust's all around.

A 1954 Olds Rocket 324 and matching Hydromatic transmission are going to be shoehorned between the rails for motivation. That'll require some work on the firewall to make it fit, but I think it'll be worth it. An early F1 steering box and column is going to free up a bit of room over the stock unit as well.

The cab is chopped 4 inches, but may have to come just a touch lower to clean up some poor work that was originally done. There's some gaps visible from the inside, where they didn't make the cuts right. Stock bench seat with a leather/cloth tuck and roll upholstery. 1940 Ford dash and gauges with a column mounted 50s tach...

  17. I know neither one is a ford, or 32-34, but here is my fenderless 30' Chevrolet coach and 35' IHC pickup. Both late 50's early 60's inspired.

Not quite sure what you mean... I plan on splitting the original wishbone that's on the front axle.

Paint will be getting changed. I don't really like the white/maroon combo that's there now. Haven't decided on a final colour scheme yet.

I just thought you meant you were taking the radious rods off and using wishbones. I know what you mean thou. I haven't checked out your thread on this project yet I will do that right now. Good luck can't wait to start on mine.
