I made this new grill surrond today still not sure if i like so i wanted to see what you guys think and what ideas you might have. Keep in mind it will be all filled in and preety i just have the conduit tacked in place for the pics and to get a idea.

The first pic is of the new surround and a 50 chevy rear bumper guard thing. its a big one. just picture that centerd and floating.

Number two is the little front grill guard thats straight across. of course the lower bumper brackets would come off.

Third and final is from a few weeks ago. its a 51 f-1 grill with 2 xtra teeth. and it would need to be cut down on the bottom to fit of course. but let me know what you all like and dislike

i actually like the third picture (the f-1 grille). that would look great painted or chromed.

I like the surround, you need to make a splashpan or modifiy the original.
I think you need to do some research on the grill bar itself, find old mags with diffferent ones. I've seen kustoms that are "in progress' and have no grill bar though still looks great with a finished grill opening. try a 53 chevy or pontiac

I think the surround was well worth the burn Dirty Bry........but I like option 2 without the brackets of course, centered and with bullets on the ends to compliment the curve of the surround as it comes away from the hood! Then she'll be perfect!!:D Kinda like this O=====O......................

YOU KNEW I"D BE ON THIS ONE!:D

I really dig the F1 grill also, cut down just alittle and chromed inside of the molded grill shell would be nasty.

lightened up the pic for ya. I really dig your car without a grille at all. Looks like it could eat people. But this treatment is cool too...

(I cleaned up the floor a little too... gotta stop letting Hack park in your garage!) :D :D [JK Hack] :) :p

Those big dumpy teeth just go so well with the dumpyness of that body style car. I might just have to find me some F1 teeth for my 49

Got to agree, F-1 all the way. It just works with the rest of the cars style.

I don't know if this will help. but I was looking at the pics of the f1 teeth and for some reason I thought "those teeth would be pretty wild mounted UPSIDE DOWN, you know so the curve flows down and inside. I dont know if its possible to mount them that way, but it would be different. It make lots more people ****ch their heads too. I can just picture those rounded teethe "floating" above a smooth splash pan. eh, i dunno just my 2 cents
oh yeah, i like the opening shape too...

Man i went out and flipped the grill.. what a diffrence that makes. its the one no matter what. Ill get some pics of it flipped in the morning and post them. It looks 10 times better upside down and i wont have to cut it down now. chrome would be cool but im a long ways away from getting any thing replated on my car. so for now ill just run it off white to match my scallop on the side. and paint one tooth gold for brandy cause she loves the ghetto life:D  ;)

dagmars were going on the back not the front... gooshhhh freeking idiot  :D
u did the damn photo shop for me:D
But i dont know if im doing that on the back yet.. the front was suppose to be that 57 chevy bumper cut up but now i may run my stock one flipped. ive been working on it today and redid the grill surround with 1 1/4" **** the 1/2" **** was wayyyy to small for it. its a big huge pain in the *** to make it symetrical and all that jazz so its moving very slow. back to work...

I think this custom grill, using the Buick teeth from that other photo, when carefully positioned, goes with the overall at***ude of your car...

    I like picture #1.

Especially if you added some "teeth" to it or maybe a set of caddy type bullets

round the grill surround a bit around your new grill.

I think the F-1 grill is too big. sits too high...JMHO. :)

  30. f1.

pic three is exactly what Im looking to build!..any more pics?

    =]

    Cheers
