help merc lowering

    Ibrought a mercury 1950 flat head i lowered the back 4inch blocks now i need to lower the front do i need drop spindels to do so im on a tight budget and liven in australia they are not easy to get so any help on this would be good i can buy drop spindels from there just dont no where to get them thank you cheers grant.

    Use ford aerostar coils.perfect fit 3" drop.brand-new around 80 bucks.Search aerostar on here, and you'll find the thread.

    you can cut a coil and 1/2 out of the stock ones and still have a good ride not any more.

    Hi 60chevy i have some front coils that come of my 50 mercury that might help you my merc was lowered when i got it but i have changed my front end i live in geelong PM me if your interested

    I guess the three cheap ways are the plates, short coils, or the hard way which is flipping the stock uprights. I flipped to keep the spring length and ride. There are as many disadvantages ***ociated with flipping as advantages, but it didnt cost me anything but time.
    I flipped side to side, heated and bent camber and castor into the upright, bent the steering arm...etc..
