To start off the story of it davidh73750 was having a little get together in July. A guy that lives down the way showed up, of course cars were brought up and he metioned that he had a couple 55 chevy 2 doors. after getting the low down on the shape they were in (sitting in the field for 15 or so years) I had to ask if he would sell them, he said 5 each, I was thinking $500 and was ready to go to the bank sight unseen. But turns out it was $5000.
The next day I went out there to take a look at them and IMHO they are no where near $5k cars even for the both of them. but seen the olds in the back corner of his property sitting on blocks so I went to check it out and asked the story, Its been sitting for around 18 years bla bla bla.... one thing led to another and It ended up on my trailer a couple of days later. the wife was thrilled that there was another rusty car in front of the house when she got home.
Once again one thing led to another and we (the wife) decided to part ways with my 50 fleetline and turn my attention to this 56 Olds Rocket 88.
    here we go.

Ended up finding a 70 Cadillac Deville with low miles as a donor car for the 472/TH-400 had to cut up the pan and pickup tube to make it a rear sump from a front

  5. I prefer the Olds over the Fleetline so I think you did good. Good luck with the build.

Thanks guys, Its been kinda slow the past few weeks since my car is STILL getting upholstery. All I have to say is it better be real good. Other then that I have just been colecting parts for it, so when it gets back here I'll have a lot to do. got a few major scores as war as parts go though.
I was wondering around the pull a part and spotted a 75 deville. looked under the hood and HELLO HEI.
also thanks to hispanicviking, the front of the olds will be looking better with the grills he sent me.
I'll be sure to upload some pictures when the car comes back home (soon I hope)

Interior looks great. 55-56 Olds is one of my all time favorite body styles... Got a plan for body mods or paint yet?

  19. Please dont mess up that killer interior while working on the car. You work form the inside out method I see! Love tri year Olds

well I met a guy that owns a upholstery shop here in Oklahoma and we did a little bit of trading for it so I wanted to get "paid" before it was to late. he has also been pretty slow through the winter. but it will be coming back out next week so I dont screw it up

    fuxl,

the guy that did my upholstery did it as well, but I needed to paint the dash before installing it. he kept the pattern for it if you want me to see what he would want to build one for you

I've been trying to get a hold of the guy finally got a call from him today, he got hit pretty hard with the weather we had here over the weekend so he said to get back with him in about 2 weeks. I'll let you guys know as soon as he is working again.
